The process of emotional therapy involves understanding of feelings and enabling people, who are unable to deal with their own problems, manage to do so. Unlike other forms of therapy, this one does not rely on intellectual analysis. The basis of the treatment is in the proof that human beings perform actions based on their emotions.

When compared to standard psychological therapy, several differences arise. The first is that, it takes a shorter time, usually averaging fifteen sessions. Another disparity lies in the fact that the psychological angle involves intellectual analysis which seeks to identify the reason people behave the way they do. On the other hand, emotional therapy focuses on the inability of people to manage various problems in their life.

Emotional freedom techniques are the main tool used in the process. While some patients may be healed through simple verbal sessions, majority use this tool. It employs the use of certain specific methods, such as, thought filled therapy, acupuncture, and neuro-linguistic programming. The therapist taps specific parts of the body of the patient. Some body parts are directly linked to nerves that are behind certain emotions. Understanding these little details is what makes these techniques highly efficient.

Since the procedure enables the undoing of damage from the past, its main merit is that, the person has no desire to resume old habits which ensures complete healing. Most patients have claimed no internal struggles that previously existed. The result is an overall sense of well being and a state of being emotionally healthy. In this procedure, the patient is unable to hide any sensation from the therapist and this is what ensures complete healing. For instance, in acupuncture, the ability of the counselor, to tap certain parts of the body creating involuntary responses from the patient cause full disclosure, thus successful treatment.

Among the common things treated are addictions, feeling stuck, self esteem issues, inability to lose weight, and so on. The impact of the procedure on drug addicts, for instance, has enabled full recovery for most patients. It addresses the sensations attached to the need to use the drugs. Once the feelings have been dealt with, they are lost forever.

The procedure is speedy and accurate. In contrast to the psychological process, the healing process is mainly in the control of the counselor and not the patient. Once the patient is able to identify the main problem and accept to attempt healing, the therapist has a task of assisting the patient to get rid of all negative emotions. This creates a swift process of recovery and breaking of the associative bond that previously existed.

The field has continued to expand over the years. More experts and therapists have continued to come up with better healing methods of treatment. Since the procedures have proved advantageous, a lot of money has been poured into research leading to even more advanced progressions. The minimal dependence on drugs makes it cheaper to fund and facilitate.

In conclusion, emotional therapy is an advantageous process that leaves the patient completely healed and in control of their own feelings. Its results cannot be forged or faked since a lapse is not expected. It is this form of quality consequence that has made it an effective treatment since the early 90s.
