"Lost time is never found again." - Benjamin Franklin
Do you find it hard to make time for your workout? Many people do. Individuals are so busy these days that it often seems that a workout is just one more thing to do and since there is no "boss" over it, the daily workout is often the very thing that doesn't get done. Yet, what is a workout? It is central, basic and foundational to health and well-being. Not making time for the daily workout could mean you will wind up unfortunately having to make time to be ill. Never fear - here are some simple ways to get short workouts in throughout the day.
Prevention with Mini Workouts
I've heard it time and again from clients: I just woke up one day and realized I had gained weight, lost muscle, or became out of shape. We all know that this doesn't overnight, it just seems to feel that way. Many factors overtime play a role in the process, such as overeating and inactivity. Therefore, prevention is key. One way to prevent this from happening is by doing mini workouts throughout the day. Mini workouts are short workouts in duration but high in intensity.
Early Morning Workouts
There is virtually no time better for mini workouts than the early morning. This is because it simply puts the right start on the day. Doing early morning mini workouts can help to set a healthy tone and mindset for the day because once you have done your early morning short workouts, you will be much less likely to overeat and more likely to reach for a healthy diet choices throughout the day.
Grab Opportune Moments
Many times, women must grab opportune moments during the day or night to exercise. This could be once a big project is finished or even when the baby is sleeping. Another opportune moment is right before the school-age children get home. These mini workouts are flexible and can be adapted to lifestyle demands. The flexibility is the beauty of it.
There you have it - some very basic ways to begin getting mini workouts in throughout the day. Each way is simple and easy, yet they will still require some behavior modification on your part. The key to success is making sure you do it. Once you get into the habit, you'll want to make your workouts intense enough so you reach your goals.
So weather it is morning, noon, or night, take a YOU break, stop everything and move your body for as much time as you have. This realistic approach can be the step you need to find the time in your schedule for more regular workouts.
