Is Water Really the Answer to Weight Loss?

I've heard all sorts of theories on how much water you should drink a day to lose weight. Is it eight glasses? Is it ten or even fifteen? It seems that whichever report you read there is a different opinion so I thought I would tell you the truth.
Yes; it is important to be correctly hydrated and to do that you need to drink approximately eight glasses of water per day for seven days. You will initially lose weight because of this; the reason for this is that when you are dehydrated your body retains as much water as it can to keep going. When you correctly hydrate yourself your body will release that excess water and flush it out of your body with the fresh water.

However, this is where the need to drink eight glasses of water per day stops as long as you are following one very simple step that WILL mean you lose weight.
You MUST eat more water rich foods and ensure that those water rich foods are AT LEAST 70% of your food intake. This will mean that your body remains 'mostly' hydrated and you can then just drink water to quench your thirst (approx 3 - 4 glasses per day should be sufficient).
So what are water rich foods? Well, simply put they are fruit, vegetables and salad with salads being the most water rich of those three groups. How much water rich food do you eat as a percentage of your diet now? Try it for the next week eating as you do now and see what the outcome is; my belief is that as a 'normal' person you will eat around 30% - 40% as an average over the week.
Once you've trialled it for a week and found how much you currently eat move to eating a diet containing 70% water rich foods and see what the impact is. Trial this for 28 days and I guarantee you will:
a) Lose weight
b) Have more energy
c) Feel better
d) Your skin will feel better
If you're struggling for ideas of how to increase your intake of water rich food to 70% let me give you some ideas:
• Only eat fruit for breakfast and up to lunchtime
• Eat steamed vegetables with your main evening meal
• Any meal that doesn't contain vegetables must contain salad
• Weigh your non water based food and work out how much water based food you need
As someone who has discovered and achieved how to lose weight and keep it off forever the thought of drinking eight, ten or fifteen glasses of water per day makes me feel ill. I know that by eating more water rich foods I can drink just three to four glasses per day, still be properly hydrated and still keep my excess weight off forever.
